Today on this 2013 Kia Rio, well be testing the Yakima Roof Rack System 58-inch crossbars, part number Y00409, Q83 clips, part number Y00683 and the Q Towers, part number Y00124.To begin our test fit with the roof rack system already assembled well go and open the front passenger and driver side door. Well set the front crossbars onto the front part of the roof and measure it from the glass to the first part of the tower. The measurement from the glass to the front of the tower is 10-1/2 inches. Well the repeat this for the opposite side to make sure that the crossbar is perpendicular to the vehicle.Once we have established equal measurements on both the drivers side and passenger side well go ahead and tighten down the tower to secure it in place. After the first crossbar is assembled well then go ahead and open the rear passenger and driver side doors, setting the rear crossbar on top of the roof and then measuring the crossbars spread. The crossbar spread is an important measurement as it will determine what accessories are optional for this particular roof rack system. The crossbar spread for this particular vehicle is 26-1/2 inches. Once you have established a crossbar spread for the driver side and passenger side of the vehicle you can then tighten down the towers and secure with a black clamp. That concludes todays fit for the Yakima Roof Rack System on this 2013 Kia Rio.
