The circling jungle crows in sky were the omen of the scene on the ground. A large group of Asian water monitor lizards had gathered around the carcass of a Rohu carp (Labeo rohita).
The Rohu is a Cyprinid that can grow up to 2 meters. This specimen was just shy of a meter. But a couple of hungry monitor lizards made it disappear in half an hour. The next day, the only thing that was left, was the hard gill plates of the fish.
