The ASICS Metaracer
The Metaracer features a stylish and secure upper like Asics' other racing shoes. The upper is also hydrophobic.
The midsole is Flytefoam which is either a disappointment or an understatement as Asics could have improved the formulation of its oldest midsole brand.
The outsole features wet-grip rubber and a unique, bottom-loaded carbon fiber plate that extends from the midfoot to the forefoot. The outsole also features a curious drainage port in the forefoot.
The stackheight is similar to other Asics racing flats such as the Asics Tarther RP. However, the Metaracer boasts guidesole, a rocker geometry not found in Asics' traditional racing flats.
In sum, the Metaracer is Asics' first attempt at a supershoe, and it can provide value for money at $100USD.
