This is a John Deere 4440 that I am in the process of drawing. I only have the outline complete so far. Subscribe to see the progress.
I have been Drawing since I first picked up a crayon. Growing up on a Farm, and like many artists I drew what was around me. That happened to be tractors, trucks, cows, and Baseball. As my life evolved and Baseball became less of a focus I continued to draw tractors. Spending most of my weekends at Tractor Pulls, Tractor Shows, and spending the week working on the family farm or my grandfathers farm there was always tractors around. While My grandfather had a mixed mess of Ford, International, Oliver, Long, John Deere and Zehtor Tractors, My Dad stuck with Farmall, Occasionally an Allis Chamers or Oliver would spend some time at the house.
When I was in Middle School on Career Day my Guidance Councilor asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I told him I love drawing and wanted to be an artist. He gave me some of the worst advice anyone could ever give an aspiring artist. He told me to become a Drafter. I joined a drafting program in 2000 and learned the "Art" of hand drafting in a world that was dominated by CAD. Also I should point out that Drafting and "Art" are two completely different things. Drafting never triggered the part of my brain that was stimulated that drawing artistically did.
After several years of not drawing artistically I decided to get a Tattoo. While watching my tattoo artist draw a guitar I realized how much I missed it. when I got home that day I picked up a pencil and started to draw again. Very Quickly realizing first that I love drawing and secondly that I was actually pretty good at it. I spend the next year drawing as much stuff as I could. Eventually I took on some commissioned drawings to try to make money with my art. At that point I took on too much too fast and burned myself out.
Flash forward 8 years On a tiktok Livestream with a fellow artist I shared a few of my drawings. He suggested that I start again. So I picked the pencil up again.
Now I draw what I want to draw and when I want to draw it and at the time of this posting I do not sell my art. I just draw and share it with the world. If you have read this far congrats, not too many people do leave a comment that says you made it!
I hope you enjoy my work. In the future I may take on a very limited amount of commissioned work leave a comment if you are interested in finding out more if/when that happens.
