Correction: Exceptions to the apostles and 72 men sent out by the Lord in Luke 10 who did miracles were: the unnamed man who cast out demons in Mark and Luke 9; Stephen and Philip (not the apostle Philip) who were deacons (Acts 6:1-6) and did miracles (Acts 6:8 and 8:6-7, 13); and Barnabas (Acts 14:1-3), who was an associate of Paul and an apostle (Acts 14:14). They did not spend time with Jesus and were not personally chosen by Him, though Stephen had a vision of the Lord in heaven (Acts 7:55-56) and prayed to the
Lord Jesus (Acts 7:59-60). Silas and Timothy were apostles in the sense of messengers of the church (1 Thessalonians 2:6; see 1:1), however, no mention of either of them doing signs, wonders and miracles.
