Today I ascended the Temple Mount to mark the 855th anniversary of the Rambam's (Maimonides) historic ascent to the Temple Mount on the 6th of Marcheshvan, where he prayed, in "the great and holy house." The Rambam's personal ascent to the Mount plus his teachings concerning the proper way to ascend the Temple Mount for the purpose of performing the positive commandment of Mora Mikdash (giving honor to G-d in the place of the Holy Temple) are of crucial importance to this day, as more and more Jews are following the Rambam's footsteps and ascending the Temple Mount in purity.
