NB. THIS IS A VOICEOVER TRANSCRIPT, NOT A FULL SHOT LIST.
THOUSANDS OF GOLD AND CERAMIC PIECES -- SOME DATING BACK MORE THAN 2000 YEARS -- ARE ABOUT TO GO ON DISPLAY AT COLUMBIA'S FAMOUS GOLD MUSEUM.
THE MUSEUM HAS BEEN UNDER RENOVATION FOR YEARS -- AND MANY OF THESE ARTIFACTS HAVE BEEN KEPT IN STORAGE FOR DECADES.
COLUMBIA'S INDIGINIOUS COMMUNITIES CONSIDERED GOLD TO BE SACRED -- AND THEY CRAFTED STATUETTES, JEWLERY AND MASKS MAINLY TO HONOR TRIBAL CHIEFTAINS.
THE COLLECTION WILL BE DISPLAYED IN THESE ILLUMINATED GLASS CASINGS -- AND VISITORS WILL SEE THESE OBJECTS AS EXOTIC MUSIC FILLS THE AIR.
THE GOLD MUSEUM OPENED NEARLY 70 YEARS AGO AND HOLDS ONE OF THE WORLD'S BIGGEST AND MOST IMPORTANT COLLECTIONS OF GOLDEN PIECES DATING FROM 500 BC TO THE 16TH CENTURY.
BUT THE MUSEUM HAS SUFFERED FROM NEGLECT AND POOR DISPLAYS FOR YEARS.
