►Replacing the engine air filter is critical to any engine as it stops dirt, dust, and debris from entering. Without the filter, those outside elements will get sucked in, damaging your BMW's turbocharger or engine internals.
However, a clogged filter is similarly bad, as flow reduction will hurt horsepower and fuel economy. Luckily, replacing your engine air filter is one of the simplest maintenance jobs you can do. It requires only a couple of hand tools and about fifteen minutes from start to finish.
