We chat to Kemp Powers about bringing his show, One Night in Miami, to the screen.

The 2016 play, which first premiered in the UK at Donmar Warehouse, is set in 1964 in the midst of the civil rights movement where four iconic men – Malcolm X, Cassius Clay, Sam Cooke and Jim Brown – celebrate Clay's title win in a Miami hotel room.

It has now been adapted into a film starring Kingsley Ben-Adir, Eli Goree, Aldis Hodge, and Leslie Odom Jr, with direction by Regina King.
