If it wasn't enough of Storm Corrie, there was even a small (1 is enough) bird strike that challenged this pilot of a Eurofighter Typhoon ZK372 at RAF Coningsby. With three attempts to land, one go around, one aborted landing and third time lucky.
“Touch and go’s” are very common at Coningsby but, why are they practiced? Well, for situation like these and other reasons such as last minute emergencies on the runways, debris on the runways, that kind of thing. But, all pilots, civvy or military practice touch and go’s and when a situation arises, so too does the training they’ve learnt kick in. Great job 👏
