Keith 1946-1978
This drumming from Goin' Mobile is typical of Keith and exemplifies just how incredible he was. People love to discuss, who was the "greatest ' drummer ever. Neal Peart, John Bonham, then Keith, normally third. But my reason why he is number one is that other drummers excel technically. But so does Keith, equally if not better. Yet there has never been a drummer before and after Keith who is an "entertainer" For a tw0 hour Who show that is what he did start to end. IAnd brutally keeping Pete Townshend and John Entwistle in line. I say this as I saw the Who in 1971 at a tiny 1600 person venue. I was right up to the stage. Aside from his drumming he would have ongoing an conversation with Pete between every number. Without Keith there is no Who. Sadly Who drummers since his passing are not able to fully replace him, it is not possible. Here is his contribution to Goin' Mobile, 3:30 minutes of sheer MADNESS!
