A little while back IBM partnered with Apple to take Swift to the server and they released the Kitura framework. It had a lot of promise, given that Swift runs almost as fast as C++. But alas, IBM has just jumped ship and will not be developing Kitura no more!
... That pretty much ends Kitura even though it is an open source project. So why did IBM leave? No demand. Why no demand? The target audience, the enterprise market did not want to adopt it. Why?
Because their current solutions where good enough and dependable. Java and C# are not going anywhere anytime soon.
