Pancake House. A local Filipino restaurant conglomerate that is publicly listed and started as one branch along Makati Avenue in 1974 by Milagros Basa, Leticia Zamora and Carmen Zaragosa and was known for introducing pancake and waffles to the Philippine market and additionally the best tacos in town with a recipe that remains the same today. I still remember my dad buying tacos for PHP 12.00 back in the day. Favorites at this diner style comfort food restaurant are the Hot Roast Beef, Tacos, Peach Waffle, and spaghetti with meat sauce as a child favorite. They have expanded their menu significantly in recent years but we still stick to the basics, too bad no more Sloppy Joe. Do not order their steaks as they are frozen and were served raw to us a few times.

It was bought out by a group of investors in February 2000 principally by Martin Lorenzo. Currently they operate eight brands under the group - Pancake House, Teriyaki Boy, Dencio's, Kabisera, Le Coeur de France, Sizzlin' Pepper Steak, Singkit and Yellow Cab with more than 170 outlets nationwide.
