For many decades the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) has been the bedrock of European security. The United Kingdom and the United States continue to be the biggest defence spenders in NATO and major contributors to its missions, as well as the alliance’s two nuclear custodians. However, with the rise of the People’s Republic of China, the resurgence of revisionist Russia, and new threats from advanced technologies, the alliance must become better prepared to meet the challenges on the continent of Europe in a transformative century. Otherwise, it risks falling behind.
What does this hold for the future of the defence of Europe? What does it mean for British and American geostrategy? And what does it mean for the future of alliance relations? Join this fantastic panel discussion with Lt. Gen. (rtd.) Ben Hodges and Maj. Gen. (rtd.) Mitch Mitchell CB MBE about the Anglo-American role in the defence of Europe in the 21st century.
