Blumhouse reimagines horror classic with Lee Cronin!

Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster are set to breathe new life into the classic horror franchise with a reboot of The Mummy, directed by Lee Cronin, known for his work on Evil Dead Rise. The film is scheduled for release on April 17, 2026, under New Line Cinema.

Cronin, who will both write and direct the project, has promised a fresh and terrifying take on the iconic monster. "This will be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before," Cronin stated. "I'm digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening."

This reboot follows Blumhouse's successful revitalization of other classic horror properties, including The Invisible Man and the upcoming Wolfman. Cronin's previous film, Evil Dead Rise, grossed nearly $150 million worldwide, setting high expectations for this new venture.
