The Nvidia GT640 is a low mid-range card ideal for playing Blurays, HD1080P Video, and some basic gaming. It works absolutely fine in XBMC and has some real nice VDPAU Noise reduction effects, and is able to output Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD.
The card is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8, Ubuntu 12.10, and other Linux Distros using Kernel 3.4 or above.
To use this card in Ubuntu 12.04 and below you'll need to upgrade the kernel and nvidia drivers as I show in these videos:
