In todays video, I will be trying to fix a PlayStation (PSone) with a video fault, through replacing a couple of leaked capacitors (C550 "S-Video" and C551 "Composite", both 220uF 4V SMD type). Video has it all, hot air SMD capacitor removal, soldering and more. Can I get it working again? Lets find out.
🟣 I bought the PSone in a bundle of consoles, listed as faulty on eBay. With the others, being; an original PlayStation 1 (PS1) with laser reading issues and a PlayStation 2 (PS2) with a power issue.
🟣 Remember to let me know in the comments below, if you would like to see me try and repair the other 2 consoles that I got in the bundle, or any other type of electronics.

🔵 For those interested, over on the Internet Archive (link below) I did find a PDF copy of the service manual (SCPH-100 Series, Service Manual, 5th Edition). Which is great for, locating and finding out values for the various components on the board. ⬇️

🟢 Please do not take this video as a tutorial / advice. I'm not an expert, this is just my hobby. Do your own research before attempting any repairs :)
🟢 Also, be very careful if using the hot air method to remove capacitors, as they can pop/fly off at great speed.
