Param Vir is an Indian composer who now lives in England. He had composition lessons with Peter Maxwell Davies, Oliver Knussen and Jonathan Harvey, and has written music in several different genres, including symphonic and chamber music, opera and music theatre. In this piece,
which was composed in 1999, 'chorale' clearly refers to the long-note chords, and 'white light' to the high repeated notes that accompany them.
