Mallanna Sagar: Biggest pumped-water reservoir

Mallanna Sagar is a vital component of the engineering marvel Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme. MEIL has built this reservoir to enhance the irrigation potential in the erstwhile Medak district and provide 30-tmc ft drinking water for Hyderabad and Secunderabad. It also sources water for industries in Hyderabad.
