The impact that airports have on the network operations has been duly recognized. To avoid that airports are constraining efficient network operations improvements are required on how airport operations interact with the network so as to release significant latent capacity. Therefore, it is a priority of the DMEAN Framework Programme to establish a more effective and improved interface between airports and the European ATM system.
