ABOUT THE CANDIDATES
The FIDE Women's Candidates Tournament is one of the most important FIDE events of the year. Players compete for the right to play in the next FIDE Women's World Championship match against current women's chess champion GM Ju Wenjun.
PRIZES
Players compete for the right to challenge GM Ju Wenjun in the 2024 Women's World Chess Championship and a share of the €250,000 prize fund.
THE FORMAT
Players compete in a double round-robin. The time control is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 more minutes for the rest of the game. There's a 30-second increment starting on move 1.
