In Jerusalem Orthodox Christians have held a procession as part of events throughout Israel and the Palestinian Territories marking Good Friday, the day when Christians believe Jesus was crucified. Pilgrims walk along the 14 stations of the "Via Dolorosa" or Way of Suffering, the route Jesus is said to have taken before his crucifiction and burial at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
