C1 KUP4 – Set 6 – Request Tele-Medical Service Oostende Radio
On 13December at 2200 UTC, in position Latitude 50⁰43’N.,Longitude 001⁰19’E., Course 030⁰ True, Speed 14.0 knots, one of the crew complained of severe pain in his abdomen while enroute from Port Said to Rotterdam. The ETA to Rotterdam is on 14December at 1650 UTC. The Master let the Officer of the Watch (OOW) contact the Tele-Medical Service of Oostende Radio MMSI 002050480 and request for Medical Advice using MF DSC 2187.5 / 2182.0 kHz.

Operate the MF/HF equipment effectively and efficiently by following the procedures below:
1.Click MF/HF
2.Long Press the On Button.
3.Click ‘ Tx Call ‘
4.Click ‘ MORE ‘ then Enter
5.Select ‘EXTENDED’
6.Click ‘INDIVIDUAL’
7.Key in the MMSI number of Coast Radio Station 002050480
8.Click ‘ACCEPT’
9.Click ‘URGENCY’
10.Click ‘SSB TEL’
11.Click ‘MEDICAL’
12.Click ‘POSITION’ (Automatic)
13.Click ‘ACCEPT’
14.Select ‘WITH’
15.Select DSC frequency use Rx/Tx 2187.5 kHz (default) then
16.‘ACCEPT’
17.Click ‘SEND’
18.Call in Progress and Waiting Acknowledgement will appear.
19.“Individual Call Received” will be displayed.
20.Click VIEW-MORE-CONNECT
Coast Station will assign frequency automatically via DSC. When Rx/Tx frequency appears, start the broadcast by lifting handset and pressing the Vol+ button or PTT in the handset: (PRESS ONLY ONCE and HOLD)
