The visit with the Bates continues though this episode as the two families engage in some friendly showmanship, including a family-sized tug of war. Because that's exactly what they would do if the cameras weren't here.
The Duggars and Bates parents want their children to have friends outside of their family, but they don't want them falling in with the wrong people. You know, people who practice critical thinking. Therefore, they have their kids be friends with each other.
The Bates are like the Duggars but still wear prairie dresses. As Jessa Duggar puts it, "We're more kind of like a modest modern." Um hmm.
