Police officers in Portage County, Wisconsin, responded to an unusual alert this week: A bobcat stuck in a car’s front grill.
Officers responded to that call Tuesday after a civilian called 911 to report straightforward, “I have a bobcat in my car,” according to a Facebook post from Portage County Sheriff Mike Lukas.
Lukas said the call piqued a number of officers’ curiosity, and a number of deputies responded to the scene.
“As you can imagine the shock they were in when low and behold there was a bobcat in the vehicle,” Lukas said in his post.
Lukas said his deputies are “really good at solving problems,” but called on Conservation Warden Bryan Lockman to assist with the uncommon situation. After a bit of haggling, Lockman was able to free the bobcat and returned it to the wild.
“All in a day’s work at the Portage County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin DNR,” Lukas said.
