Canadian Pacific's 2816 'Empress' steam locomotive passes through Okotoks on the way to Calgary on Friday, Aug. 4, 2023. Returning from a trip to Lethbridge the day prior, the run was a test in advance of a trip from Calgary to Mexico City setting out April 14, 2024 to commemorate the merger with Kansas City Southern to form Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC).
