In the early 1960's, a plastics company by the name of AURORA Models began producing model kits based on the old Universal Monster movies of the 30's, 40's and 50's. The Monsters included in this series were Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolfman, The Mummy, The Phantom of the Opera, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, King Kong, Godzilla, Dr Jekyll as Mr Hyde and the Bride of Frankenstein. AURORA also added two other characters to this series who weren't featured in horror movies. The Witch and The Forgotten Prisoner of Castel Mare'. The original sculpts were done by Bill Lemon except for The Bride of Frankenstein & Godzilla, sculpted by Ray Myers.
The original box art for these models was painted by James Bama except for The Forgotten Prisoner, painted by Mort Kunstler.
All models in this video were built and painted by Mike Rutherford of The House of Dracula - Monster Model Museum.
I've asked the Phantom to play for your listening pleasure as you watch the video.
