According to the most recent information on Mirror Now, the Supreme Court highlighted on Tuesday that freebie announcements by political parties in the run-up to elections need to be managed and requested the Central government to acquire directions in the subject until the next hearing, which has been scheduled for August 3. The Supreme Court was hearing a petition asking the court to order the Election Commission of India (ECI) not to allow political parties to offer or deliver nonsensical gifts from public funds before elections, and to de-register political parties or confiscate election symbols that do so. "When it comes to pre-election freebie pledges, political parties must exert control," says the Supreme Court. Keep an eye out for updates. #Freebies #Politics #SupremeCourt
