A crew of US military observers on Wednesday (20/8) flew across Russia photographing previously-secret installations - with permission from the Russian government. The flight was the first made by the US under the Open Skies treaty signed with Russia in 1992; the treaty allows spyplanes from each country to fly missions over the other. A Russian crew flew over the United States three weeks ago.
