👍 Watch how to hide a partition on a hard disk. This method will work with Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. I will demonstrate it with the example of Windows 10, but it will work in the same way with other versions of Windows operating system.

Sometimes, after reinstalling the operating system or after other actions, you can see in the Explorer a system reserved partition or a recovery partition, which should be hidden by default.

In order to avoid accidentally damaging data in this partition, you’d better hide it. Damage to this information can result in problems with booting or restoring your operating system.
So, let’s begin.
The first method is like this.
We need to start Disk Management utility.
To do it, right-click on the Start menu and select Disk Management from the menu that appears.
Disk Management utility is launched.
We can see the list of disks and their partitions.
For example, we want to take away the system reserved disk.
Right-click on it.
In the menu, choose the line “Change drive letter or path.” If there is no such line in the menu, then we will use the second method which I am going to show you later.
If you have such line, click on it and then click “Delete” in the window that appears.
Click Yes and the partition disappears from the Explorer.
If there is no such line in the menu, it’s time to use the second method.
So, let’s begin.
Right-click on the Start menu and select Command Prompt (Administrator).
Please note that starting it as Administrator is a must.
The command prompt is ready.
Enter “diskpart”
Then enter “list volume”
Look for the number of the volume which should be hidden
In our case, that is disk E, so it is Volume 3
Enter “select volume 3”
Press Enter
Then, enter “remove letter=E” (E is the letter of the disk which we want to hide)
Press Enter and see the message that the operation has been successful
Enter “exit” and close the application
Check it. As we can see, now the Explorer doesn’t show the system reserved disk. That is all for now. Thanks for watching.
