Welcome back! Thanks for joining me on an afternoon visit to Deception Pass Bridge and a 3.5 mile hike.
The Deception Pass Bridge is located at the north end of Whidbey Island, connecting Fidalgo Island to Whidbey Island. It was dedicated in 1935 and in 1982 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
The adjacent Deception Pass State Park, is the most visited State Park in Washington with an estimated 2 million visitors per year.
When I visited there were a few parking spots open on the north, allowing for a quick look before I crossed the bridge, but there were no open spots after crossing the bridge. I parked at the Administrative offices parking lot and hiked a 3.5 mile loop. First I headed through the forest and up to the Goose Rock lookout. Next I headed to the bridge and walked out for a quick look over the water. Finally, I headed down to the channel and took in some views looking up at the bridge. From there it was another mile or so back to the parking area.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’ll enjoy seeing this beautiful area!
