The BME project was developed by Dr. Brian A. Burt, drawing from his research on what might attract students or turn students away from STEM pathways.
The BME videos draw from research on Black males in engineering graduate programs, offer a better understanding of how Black males develop their perceptions of what it means to be an engineer, and provide strategies to broaden their participation in educational and workforce pathways.
BME videos can be used for educational purposes with multiple audiences: kids, parents, caregivers, family members, K-12 teachers and administrators, college professors and advisors, mentors, student peers, college and graduate students, and policymakers.
