Lots of people use haynets to feed their horse forage, whether that be hay or haylage. But with an impressive range of haynets available of different sizes (in terms of size of net and size of the holes) how can you pick the right haynet for you?
In this video, Kathryn from RB Equestrian talks through the haynet options available and when you might opt for one type over another. Some key points to note:
• There are two main differences, the size of the haynet and the size of the holes in the haynet.
• The smaller the holes are, the more difficult it is for the horse to eat from it, which means that it will take the horse longer to consume his ration.
• Haynets can also be called haylage nets. The main difference between these two is usually the size of the holes as haylage nets tend to have smaller holes when compared to haynets.
