This is an incredible walk up the steep hills of Lisbon, Portugal to its highest viewpoint, Miradouro da Senhora do Monte. It was HOT outside, but luckily you didn't hear any of my exhausted pantings haha!
The Miradouro da Senhora do Monte is one of Lisbon’s major landmarks and a marvellous point to observe the capital. To its left is the church of Graça and the castle, with houses tumbling down its hillside, standing guard above the city. In the background, the river and the Tagus estuary glow and light up the rooftops in Baixa, the ruins of Carmo and the pastel tones of the Avenidas Novas.
Lisbon is the capital and the largest city of Portugal. About 3 million people live in the metropolitan area, making it the third largest metropolitan area in the Iberian Peninsula, after Madrid and Barcelona. Nestled among seven hills, this immensely walkable city offers an enchanting alternative to Europe’s more popular capitals. With a lively nightlife scene, festive markets, and vibrant museums, Lisbon provides plenty of options to burn off a few mandatory glasses of Porto, a generous serving of bacalhau, and days’ worth of pastéis de nata.
