In this video I'm showing you how to update the BIOS for the MSI Z790 Carbon Wifi motherboard. The logic here will work on most MSI motherboards, but this is specifically for this motherboard.

First of all you'll need to grab the latest BIOS from the MSI website. You can find it here, along with ME firmware, which you'll also need to download and install.

Then follow these steps to update your BIOS:

1. Download the latest BIOS from the website
2. Extract the files onto a blank USB thumb drive
3. Insert the drive into your motherboard (if you haven't already)
4. Reboot your PC and press DEL until you get into the BIOS
5. Check the current BIOS version in the top right of the screen
6. Click M Flash on the bottom left to reboot into the flashing tool.
7. From there select the latest BIOS from your drive
8. Check that you have the newer version and the model number matches
9. Run the BIOS flash tool
10. Wait for it to finish and do NOT power off at any point.

WARNING. BIOS updates can cause problems if you aren't careful. Make sure you use the BIOS that fits your motherboard and that you don't power off your system at any point during the BIOS update process or it might result in problems.
