When you head to Google Ads to build a campaign, you may have noticed an option called "smart campaigns"
This will allow you to quickly and easily build a Google Ads campaign using the main interface of Google Ads, as opposed to Google Ads Express, which used to use a completely different interface altogether.
Which caused a ton of issues for advertisers who wanted to migrate from that interface to the main Google Ads system.
Essentially smart campaigns are supposed to allow new or indeed existing advertisers a way to generate phone calls, clicks or visits to your physical store, with a hands off approach, leaving all optimisation to Google's automated bid adjustments.

Google Ads Smart Campaigns are essentially the replacement for what was AdWords Express.
Google says Smart Ads allow you to create text and image ads that show on Google, Google Maps, and across the web, and take advantage of minimal hands-on ads management.
