MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEHT) — Dustin and Sierra Ausborn are booked in the Hopkins County Jail after a child sex abuse investigation involving a 6 year old girl.
Dustin Ausborn is charged with sexual abuse, rape and sodomy. Though police don’t know what he was doing there, he was arrested in Murray, Kentucky and was taken to the Hopkins County Jail.
Sierra Ausborn is charged with complicity of rape and sodomy.
Both Ausborns are held on a $350,000 bond.
One neighbor near the home where the alleged abuse occurred thought something was happening to the child, and another says he’s sick to his stomach.
This isn’t the first time an Ausborn has been involved with Madisonville P.D.
“Mr. Ausborn has been investigated by us before,” says Madisonville Police Detective Austin Young. “I believe he was recently charged for offenses relating to a minor or endangerment of a minor. As far as the specifics of that, we can’t comment on those. Obviously, he has a history with us here at the Madisonville Police Department.”
Authorities found out about the case from a statement the child gave to social services. An investigation started soon thereafter.
“Situations like this are always very tragic, but it’s an unfortunate job that we do,” Detective Young says. “Our community is very, very strongly supportive of our law enforcement. So, we’re honored to provide justice for those who can’t speak for themselves.”
Authorities encourage those who suspect sexual abuse to contact their local social services office or the local police department.
