After a long days walking we made it to Shira Cave, our camp for the second evening. At about 3,900m we were higher than we had been so far and it was the highest on foot I had ever been. Shira peak, one of the 3 peaks of Kilimanjaro was easily visible from the camp and provided a spectacular backdrop to the sunset that evening.
It seems I need to improve my choice of adjectives but at the time I'm afraid that: awesome, amazing and incredible are probably the most fitting descriptions.
The evening also provided some entertainment from our guides. Of which the link to is here: [ Ссылка ]
The climb was done in aid of Hope for Children, through the University of Nottingham.
