Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared a video to social media of a Ukrainian soldier raising the country’s flag in territory that was recaptured from invading Russian forces. Reuters confirmed the footage was taken in the village of Chkalovske, in the Kharkiv region.
The Ukrainian military has made impressive strides in its counter-offensive efforts in recent days. According to a statement from Zelenskyy on September 11, Ukraine has now retaken approx 2,300 sq miles of previously-captured territory in the country’s northeast.
