At Guitar Summit 2024, Harley Benton showed up with more than 10 prototype guitars and basses none of us have never seen before! And they also provided us with an update on the much-awaited ST-182 and Dullahan II models. Here’s a quick rundown of the best of them from HB’s Bene before they’re released for real in late 2024 and 2025!

Three of the new lines really caught my eye. Firstly, and extremely excitingly, we got to see three very early prototype relic HB models – and these even come with nitro finishes! There was a TE-62 Tele-type in Lake Placid Blue, a sunburst ST-62 Strat-type, and a JB Jazz Bass model which had a Blue over Sunburst type finish going on.

These guitars looked and felt fantastic, and the relic work is pretty darn convincing considering these will be some of the cheapest guitar of this type once they’re released. We can also expect the usual HB roasted maple necks, Tesla pickups, and so on here, and Bene also hinted that there will be more models to come. I’m guessing that means Les Paul and Precision Bass-influenced models, but let’s see!

Bene also says you guys should leave your comments and wishes for the new models here – and I will make sure he reads them!

After that we saw the HB-35 Blitz (‘blitz’ is German for lightning bolt), which – to my eyes at least – seems like a wonderful mix between a Gibson Dave Grohl 335 signature model, and a Trini Lopez. I’ve loved all the HB-35 guitars I’ve tried to date, and if the HB-35 Blitz is anything like them, it’ll be a wonderful guitar indeed.

Next, for the shredders and fans of 80s rock and glam rock, there’s the ST-80 Superstrat! This single humbucker, Floyd Rose-equipped beast is just a rock and roll machine, and just look at the flamed maple neck on the prototype! If they do this one in a range of bright colors like Slime Green, these ones should fly off the shelves… and Bene says they’re coming in 2024, so not long to wait!

Bene also showed us two guitars you’ll already know of – the now-released ST-Modern, which will sit in between the ST-62 and the ST-Modern Plus in terms of pricing and specs, and the SC-Custom III, which is already available.

For acoustic fans, the brand also have plenty on the horizon. Bene showed me the all-solid wood Custom Line CLG-70 (they will have cheaper versions which only feature solid tops too), which features Fishman electronics and a nice bevel on the upper bout for playing comfort.

Finally, Bene couldn’t show me on the booth, but he did tell me about the progress on the ST-182 model, and the brand later released an Instagram Reel where they tell you more about what’s happening with that guitar, and the Dullahan II – you can watch that here: [ Ссылка ]

For me, I can’t wait to see the relic guitars in their final form, and I also 100% need to try the HB-35 Blitz! That said, I’m a huge Blink-182 fan, and I won’t rest til the ST-182 is out, no matter when that is!
