The first stage in using Bim collaborate pro’s Model Coordination is to utilize Bim Collaborate Pros design collaboration ensuring that project data is structured and organized by project teams creating and sharing data in a controlled and secure way. Visualizing an entire project and identifying design concerns across multiple teams with no common platform is challenging…the solution is ABC pros model coordination where separate team models can be quickly and easily assembled.
Once data has been shared and consumed each team can assemble models to which they have appropriate access permissions. Team models can be selected from the available list and they are then automatically assembled.
In some cases, models from different disciplines may be positioned using different methods and systems, this can result in model misalignment. These inconsistencies can be corrected by using the transform tool.
This tool provides a number of methods for orthogonal and rotational alignment and the resulting translation can be saved for future use.
On some projects there may be many separate disciplines and even more distinct models to assemble in different ways, the process of moving between different selection sets of combined models can be achieved with saved views where the selection sets can be saved and brought into use at any time. Each individual saved view can be kept private or published for use by other team members.
As each separate model is combined with others automatic clash detection is performed. In this example, the drainage and site utilities models are selected for clash detection. During this process, a primary model is selected followed by a selection set of other models to clash against. Each clash is listed and can be selected for examination.
In this example, the drainage team has identified a clash that will require action and will need to raise an issue.
For ease, this can be achieved within the clash environment by selecting the clash and adding to the pre-populated clash form with the relevant details including who the issue is assigned to and the resolution date. The assigned team member is notified of the issue and can then examine it and take the necessary action for resolution.
Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro’s Model Coordination provides projects teams with the tools to effectively assemble, coordinate and test disparate models from different disciplines on an easily accessible common platform.
