Following on from my very first Atlas model locomotive that I bought last month. I had to get another model from their "Silver" range and this is also my very first Canadian model train to join my fleet as well. This is a review and test run of the Atlas Silver Series EMD GP40-2 (non-dynamic braked version) Diesel Locomotive that is in the striking Canadian Pacific livery and is numbered as #4615. The model is absolutely loaded with quality and the locomotive comes with a number of factory-applied detail parts as well as some "user applied" fittings that you will need to add to the model yourself and I have added the end balcony's and the snowplough which makes the model look more realistic in my opinion. The running is very smooth without any signs of jerkiness under DC control as shown in the video and the locomotive can handle a decent sized consist as well although I have only used just 3 boxcars in this test drive. I shall do another video of this great model hauling more wagons in a future running session video when I get some autoracks and more boxcars to really test the haulage power of this brute. The model boasts quality all round from the presentation box that it comes in right down to the model itself. I have ran my basic Bachmann variants in the background so that you can compare the two versions but the Atlas model is the clear winner all round and I shall look forward to getting more Atlas versions in the future. This model gets a perfect score from me as I just cannot find fault with it in anyway as it looks, runs and feels "right" in every way.
Overall Rating: 10/10.
