A low-pressure system over the southwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression, moving northwestward at 12 kmph over the past 6 hours. Currently centered 310 km southeast of Trincomalee, 590 km southeast of Nagapattinam, and 800 km southeast of Chennai, it is expected to strengthen into a cyclonic storm by November 27. It is forecast to cross Sri Lanka’s coast and head towards Tamil Nadu in the following two days. The system will bring moderate to heavy rains to parts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh's southern coast from November 26 to 29. Fishermen are advised to avoid venturing into the sea during this period. Farmers are urged to take precautions to safeguard their crops.
