SAVE THIS‼️ We challenged ourselves to the viral all-you-can-eat soba challenge in Tokyo! 🍜
Amusement Wanko Soba is one of Japan’s most eccentric food challenges, and also the country’s first conveyor belt soba restaurant. It costs ¥3,800 (S$32.60) to enter and you’ll be given 40 minutes to stuff yourself silly with tiny bowls of soba.
We haven’t had lunch, so we thought we would do rather ok with our hunger. But we soon find ourselves regretting our decision.. The initial 50 bowls were still alright, but beyond that, our soba started tasting bland as you’re only given the dashi dip and some basic condiments for taste. If you want to give yourself a “boost”, you can always gamble with the Mystery Bowls which could be empty or an upsized portion. Our advice is not to even try, as it’s probably just something to punish the greedy. 😂
If you’re a fighter, you can aim for the top position and have your name and score flashed on the screen for the day. There’s even a wall-of-fame for the regulars with one even hitting the 10,000 bowl mark, like how the fk is that even possible?! 🤯
It is a fun activity to do with friends when you’re there, but in our opinion, once is enough and we’ll probably not be eating soba anytime soon after this.
