The Border Management Authority has suspended the processing of trucks at the Lebombo Port of Entry.
Only small vehicles and people are being cleared to cross the border into Mozambique.
The suspension was done prior to Mozambique's Constitutional Council declaring the ruling party, Frelimo, the winner of the October election.
The situation is said to be volatile in Mozambique following the announcement.
