World Environment Day
"Naxos Wildlife Protection" celebrates this day with the return of a Little Bittern (Ixobrychus minutus) to her natural environment.
The little female wading bird was found emaciated and exhausted, unable to fly, and was brought to "Naxos Wildlife Protection's" station, where she received treatment.
Now, she flies again in her natural habitat with the hope that, one day, the world will be a safer place for her and all wild animals.

"Naxos Wildlife Protection" is an association of volunteers based on the island of Naxos, Greece, who run a first aid care station for wildlife and work on various projects on their protection and the improvement of their natural habitats.
