Here's a video clip of my 383sbc L98 with a custom cam grind by Comp Cams. This cam is probably on the edge of still maintaining street manners. It's also suited for aftermarket intakes. I'm using a TPIS MiniRam, similar to LT-1 intake.
Spec's:
Hydraulic Roller
Duration 284 IN / 288 EX
Lift .579" IN / .572" EX
LSA 107
Peak power @6,000rpm w/over rev. 6,400rpm
If your building a 383sbc L98 with the TPI intake system, here's a custom cam grind spec that would be ideal.
Note: For Mild to no porting work
Spec's
Duration 271 IN / 275 EX
Lift .505" IN / .500" EX (This can be adjusted on head flow.)
LSA 106
Peak power @5,000rpm w/ over rev 5,400rpm (Note, you'll be lucky to flow 220 cfm with stock intake)
Note: For Fully ported & aftermarket runners.
Spec's
Duration 277 IN / 281 EX
Lift .525 IN / .505 EX ( this can be adjusted based on head flow)
LSA 106
Peak power @5,300rpm- 5,400rpm w/ over rev 5,700rpm - 5,800rpm
(Note, if you can get 235cfm, it would be ideal, but it will take some effort using TPI intake.)
