With the freshly rebuilt transmission back in the car our customers 1955 Pontiac Star Chief is ready for the final step of work, exhaust! Sometime in its past a previous "mechanic" had done an... lets call it interesting exhaust modification to plumb in duel exhaust cutting holes in the X frame to run pipes, then looping one under the drive shaft with a slight "dimple" to attempt clearance. Needless to say, aside from some bad swiss cheese issues this just wouldn't do for such a cool and unique car.

So, with the customers blessing we built a TRUE duel exhaust system for this granddaddy of Pontiac V8s. Unfortunately the 55 Pontiac exhaust manifold setup was a bit of a problem so some upgrades/updates were needed and as you can tell in the video Rich was NOT excited for that step!

Now running with some stainless steel pipes from the manifolds back into a set of Porter Mufflers then out to a teardrop tip that exits in front of reach rear tire this thing has a LOT more hotrod attitude. The customer is ecstatic with the fit and finish of his new exhaust setup and more than pleased with the classic car rumble from the side pipes.

It's not fast, nor would it ever really need to be. These big comfortable pieces of classic american muscle are made for low and slow cruising, not drag racing or stoplight launches. We hope you enjoy the video, we are extremely proud of how this one turned out!
