Election Commission of India (ECI) initiated the distribution and dispatch of designated ballot boxes, ballot papers, special pens and other sealed election materials for the conduct of this year’s Presidential Election, scheduled to be held on July 18, officials from Nagaland, designated for the collection of election materials brought the ballot box and other election materials from Delhi to Dimapur on July 13. On arrival at Dimapur airport, the team directly proceeded to the Strong room at the Assembly Secretariat, Kohima, accompanied by police escort vehicles.According to a press release issued by V Shashank Shekhar, Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, the ballot boxes and other related materials are to be stored in sanitised and properly sealed strong rooms under strict video surveillance. The polling will take place on July 18 after which the polled and sealed Ballot boxes and other election material will be transported back to Delhi on July 19 to the Returning Officer, Secretary General, Rajya Sabha, PC Mody
