The Jewish Golden Age of Spain was marked by the fact that the Jews were not only great in Torah -which they were since the study of Torah was always the primary occupation of the Jews, but the Jews were also great in medicine because they brought over medicine from the time of the Greeks. The Moslims were also great in medicine of its time. Jews were into pharmacology, philosophy, the arts. Poetry became a necessary part of Jewish life. If you went to a wedding, not only did you give a gift but also a poem. Or if you went to comfort the bereaved you gave them a poem. And that's the beginning of a flowering age of Jewish poetry both in Hebrew and in Arabic. Jews were multilingual. This Golden Age of Spain allowed Jews to develop into many different areas and they really were the ones that made their imprint on Spanish society and that imprint still lasts today.
